NSHE Announces Las Vegas, Nevada - January 23, 2009
In light of Gov. Jim Gibbons' devastating budget cut proposal, higher education campuses in Southern Nevada are holding a special town hall meeting on Monday, January 26 at 6 p.m. in the student union (2nd floor ballroom) at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Higher education officials from the College of Southern Nevada, Nevada State College, the Desert Research Institute, and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, are seeking community input and ideas related to the state's budget crisis.
Invited speakers include Board of Regents Chair Michael Wixom, Chancellor Jim Rogers and presidents David Ashley (UNLV), Fred Maryanski (NSC), Michael Richards (CSN) and Stephen Wells (DRI). The event is open to the public.
