Eric Sandgren, dean of the Howard R. Hughes College of Engineering will officially welcome incoming freshmen, transfer, and graduate students to the college Friday, August 21, 2009.
He will review the annuals goals and priorities of the college, introduce students to innovative faculty, feature successful college alumni, and discuss his commitment to the engineering and computer science education process. Students and their guests will also have the ability to pose to current engineering students. The official welcome will conclude with a tour of the current engineering complex and the new science and engineering building. This program is structured differently than open house or previously attended orientation sessions.

10:00 a.m. Program begins in TAM Alumni Center
11:30 a.m. Program concludes at TAM and Tours begin
1:00 p.m. Lunch Provided by First Year Programs
